The Morris family began its operation in Madison, Georgia as an automobile repair shop with one (O.H. Morris) small wrecker in 1956. Founded by O.H. Morris, the company grew to include several other aspects of the transportation industry, including the first GMC dealership in the area and house moving. Before the Atlanta growth spread to the east, Morris Wreckers once had the only large wrecker from Atlanta to Augusta.
The ownership of the company changed in 1990 with O.H. Morris’s daughter, Brenda, and her husband, Bobby. (Bobby & Brenda Morris) Morris Wreckers & Truck Repair, Inc. began to include heavy duty truck repair and truck tire sales and repair along with the wrecker service. In 2000, the company expanded the towing service to Greensboro, Georgia along with the addition of Oconee Car Care, an automobile repair shop.
In the year 2005, Morris Wreckers & Truck Repair, Inc. in Madison, Georgia grew to include heavy truck parts sales to its operation. A second addition in Madison began operation in early 2006 as home of the wrecker service and includes truck tire sales/repair service.
The automobile service of Oconee Car Care was sold in 2009, but Morris Wreckers & Truck Repair, Inc. continues to have a presence in the Greene county area offering towing and recovery services.
Active members of the Towing & Recovery Association of Georgia (TRAG), Morris Wreckers & Truck Repair, Inc. President, Bobby Morris, recently retired as the Region 3 Director. For more information on TRAG, go to www.trag.org.
